Artist Statement

I love the way the light hits the side of a face, and the shadows it creates. When I look deep into the patterns of light and shadows, I see the light and color within the darkness. I approach each painting individually, never relying on a formula. Never trying to live in the past, rather I allow myself to feel and paint from that present place of love and center. My goal is to capture the moment in which there is no time, just color and form. In quieting my mind, I lose myself within, thus bringing the within out. The color, texture, and movement are what complete each composition, or painting. To perceive each timeless moment in the composition, I use the metaphor of thick and bright colors that vary in texture and motion. My artwork is an invitation to enter the wholeness of the present moment.
